Denzell Walker
Mental Health Program Manager
Denzell C. Walker is an academic coach at the Gilman School with a background in youth development, program leadership, and educational strategy. In his current role, he works closely with upper school students to strengthen executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, and effective study strategies. He is known for creating structured, supportive environments that empower students to take ownership of their learning, build self-advocacy skills, and achieve long-term academic success. Looking ahead, Denzell will begin pursuing a Master’s degree in School Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania in the fall of 2027, further deepening his commitment to educational impact and leadership.
Prior to his work at Gilman, Denzell served as Director of Programs at Project Pneuma, where he led the growth of the organization from a startup initiative into a multi-million-dollar operation serving over 150 youth annually. He oversaw program design and execution, managed multidisciplinary teams, and built strong partnerships with families, schools, and community stakeholders. His work focused on fostering both academic achievement and social-emotional development through innovative, high-impact programming. Denzell holds a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic and Corporate Communications from Susquehanna University and earned leadership certificates through the Practitioners Leadership Institute at the Center for Urban Families and the Bunting Neighborhood Leadership Program at the Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute.
