Five Core Pillars
Aligning the content of Youth 360 with information contained in the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) provides target schools a greater understanding of why their students would benefit from completing the program. Engaging and relevant content remains at the forefront of the programmatic goals. As such the modules will be presented in the following order:
Understanding A1-transformed Careers through Robotics
Experiential learning in robotics and artificial intelligence prepares students for emerging career pathways in STEM fields. Studies indicate that hands-on engagement with emerging technologies enhances computational thinking and problem-solving skills while increasing self-efficacy in technical domains.
Academic Achievement through enhanced Executive Functions
Executive function development—including working memory, cognitive flexibility, and inhibitory control—serves as a critical predictor of academic success. Research confirms that targeted interventions strengthening executive functions significantly improve academic performance and learning outcomes across secondary education.
SAT/ACT Prep
Standardized test preparation remains a vital component of college access, particularly for underrepresented student populations. Evidence suggests that structured test preparation programs reduce achievement gaps and increase college enrollment rates among participants.
College Writing
Advanced writing instruction develops critical literacy skills essential for post-secondary
academic success. College-level writing competency serves as a gateway skill, with research demonstrating strong correlations between writing proficiency and degree completion.
College & Career Navigation
Comprehensive college and career counseling addresses informational barriers that disproportionately affect first-generation and low-income students. Research indicates that structured navigation programs significantly increase college application rates, enrollment, and persistence.
